The Reality of things I can do when I am Dead.

1.Fart. -- But I won't feel better.
2.Play dead -- There won't be much play about it, but I'll be really good.

What do you THINK could not be real?

Wouldn't it be cool to stop light?  I do not mean to put a book in front of it and let the light hit it - wham!!!   But, it would be cool to stop light and hold it and the let it go again.  You couldn't do that in real life could you?
ScienceDaily (June 27, 2010) — An Australian National University-led team has developed the most efficient quantum memory for light in the world, taking us closer to a future of super-fast computers and communication secured by the laws of physics.
The team at the ANU Research School of Physics and Engineering used a technique they pioneered to stop and control light from a laser, manipulating electrons in a crystal cooled to a chilly -270 degrees Celcius. The unprecedented efficiency and accuracy of the system allows the delicate quantum nature of the light to be stored, manipulated, and recalled.
"Light entering the crystal is slowed all the way to a stop, where it remains until we let it go again," explains lead researcher Morgan Hedges. "When we do let it go, we get out essentially everything that went in as a three-dimensional hologram, accurate right down to the last photon.
"Because of the inherent uncertainty in quantum mechanics, some of the information in this light will be lost the moment it is measured, making it a read-once hologram. Quantum mechanics guarantees this information can only be read once, making it perfect for secure communication."
The same efficient and accurate qualities make the memory a leading prospect for quantum computing, which has the potential to be many times faster and more powerful than contemporary computing.
In addition, the researchers say the light storage will allow tests of fundamental physics, such as how the bizarre phenomenon of quantum entanglement interacts with of the theory of relativity.
"We could entangle the quantum state of two memories, that is, two crystals," says team leader Dr Matthew Sellars. "According to quantum mechanics, reading out one memory will instantly alter what is stored in the other, no matter how large the distance between them. According to relativity, the way time passes for one memory is affected by how it moves. With a good quantum memory, an experiment to measure how these fundamental effects interact could be as simple as putting one crystal in the back of my car and going for a drive."
Dr Sellars' team has previously performed an experiment that 'stopped' light in a crystal for over a second, more than 1,000 times longer than was previously possible. He said that the team is now bringing together systems that combine the high efficiency with storage times of hours.
The research team includes Dr Jevon Longdell from the University of Otago and Dr Yongmin Li from Shanxi University. The findings are published in Nature.
Doesn't this challenge your ideas of real possibilities?

What seems real may have a fatal flaw.

The preceding rationalization blog, i.e. the one before this, is actually just below this in this list.  It seems odd that the preceding blog is the one that follows, doesn't it?  With that being said, and now that I have had enough time to digest his idea, I will point out that Mark Mattic did not address the fact that looking at the electrons causes them to behave as particles and note that many others have searched for a logical explanation before settling on the illogical one offered by quantum physics.

Reality, belief based on perception

When you think you understand the irrational, along comes rational.

"Double slit experiment explained Part I

The results of the double slit experiment are not as mysterious as all the literature and discussion about it would suggest. In fact quantum mechanics is not needed to understand the result at all! A basic understanding of the fundamentals of electrodynamics is all that is required. Look no farther than Maxwell’s equations. In part I will give the intuitive explanation, and in part II I will show the mathematical relationships explaining the results of the double slit experiment.

When light is shown through 2 slits an interference pattern emerges on a screen behind the slits illustrating how light waves constructively and destructively interfere with one another. When electrons are directed through the same 2 slits, one electron at a time, a similar interference pattern emerges over time. Intuitively one would expect that the electron particles would show a pattern of 2 bands directly behind each slit, however that’s not what has been demonstrated many times by many investigators. The electron particles build an interference pattern over time very similar to the interference pattern of light waves.

An electron has negative charge. A electron in free space radiates a electric field originating from the electron. This electrostatic field is easily demonstrated in high school physics. Most electrons have spin. A spinning electron induces a magnetic field perpendicular to the radiating electric field. This electromagnetic field radiates away from the spinning electron at the speed of light. A spinning electron emanating from an electron gun induces a secondary magnetic field which radiates away perpendicular from the line of direction of the moving negatively charged electron; similar to the magnetic field induced by an electric current in a wire. The electrostatic field, magnetic moment, and electromagnetic field induced from moving, spinning negative electric charge all travel at the speed of light. The resulting electromagnetic waves emanating from the spinning and moving electron arrive at the slits before the electron, because the electron is moving slower than the speed of light (slightly). By the time an electron reaches a slit, the propagating electromagnetic waves induced from the electron are already moving through the slits. The electromagnetic waves emanating from each slit interfere with one another on the other side of the slits. When the electron goes through one or the other slit it emerges within the wave field pattern of the electromagnetic waves that have already passed through the slits. The resulting electromagnetic waves, which originated from the moving, spinning electron, having passed through the slits form an interference pattern. The negatively charged electron interacts with the electromagnetic interference pattern such that it will be attracted to the positively reinforced EM waves and repelled from the negatively reinforced EM waves. The resulting interference pattern seen by the electrons on the screen behind the slits will coincide with the positive and negative interference of the resulting electromagnetic waves.

If electrons are treated as particles and electromagnetism are treated waves no other properties are required to explain the double slit experiment. Only the equations from electrodynamics are needed, with no quantum mechanics required. In part II I will show the minimum math required to explain the behavior of the electron interference pattern in the doulble slit experiment.

I must leave others to debate how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.

the reality of lost many teeth and eating an apple

although the granny smith was perfect and delicious, the effort required in it's assimilation by means of mastication, has proven to be too excessive, therefore, alternate methods must be employed in the future. Aging conquers simple pleasures is an unfortunate reality of life.

I have been pondering quantum physics-that is, what I understand -or try to.
A great physicist once said that if you think you understand quantum physics, then you don't.

It seems to indicate that all possible outcomes exist until you look.(hard to believe????)

The famous double slit experiment fires a single electron at a target behind a barrier which has two slits.
The results of the experiment are that the electron went through A, or B, or A&B, or neither and reached the target..
The resulting impression on the target is that of a wave & NOT of a particle.
If the experiment is set up to look and see which slit is used, then either A or B was used AND the pattern on the target was particles and NOT waves.
you change the outcome when you look.!!! when you look it is a particle, when you don't it is a wave!

particle = matter
wave=energy

What I just told you is true and beyond debate.

All possibilities exist, until you act and make it real.

This seems to be the reality of reality, although it is quite mad.

To go further down the rabbit hole with Alice, They have found that a COMPLETE vacuum is actually boiling with subatomic particle coming into and out of existence.

And a little further down this rabbit hole, the universe is closed with no edges and no center. And yet it is expanding and the distance between galaxies is increasing. Oh no!( I ponder) perhaps it is the other way around??? What did Alice drink,??? space is getting bigger or matter is getting smaller, which is it?

All possibilities exist, until you act and make it real.

You make choices every day, but there are infinite possibilities and choices effect reality . Almost sounds like a religion, doesn't it? I'm not preaching I've just fallen down this rabbit hole and can't get out!
To understand watch the video "

What the Bleep!? - Down the Rabbit Hole"

Ponder this for a while!
